Culture day was an opportunity to take part in cultural exchange. There were 4 groups representing Afro-Guyanese, Amerindian, Indo-Guyanese, and American culture. Each group made signature foods of theit heritage. The Amerindian group performed a dance. Some of the Peace Corps Response volunteers taught line dancing. A few groups played soccer. One of the volunteers did some traditional henna on the Indo-Guyanese group and one of the girls from anow Amerindian village also painted designs on a couple volunteers.
It was a day of learning, embracing each other’s cultures, and bonding. All in all a lot of fun.
